**PARTY IN THE
PARK, FRIDAY THE 13TH**
Every year members of the league get together to help
clean up our park on the Friday of the tournament. If you can help
and we do appreciate it, please be at the park for start time of 4pm.
If you can't be there for that time we are usually there for at least a
couple of hours so feel free to drop by. It would be great to see
at least 2 people from each team. Hope to see you there!!
Things to do: wet/drag/line the field,
tidy/clean the announcers box, pull weeds, and basically groom the
grounds.

**LEAGUE FEES**
League fees are overdue. Sparky has sent out a
reminder e-mail to everyone so please get your fees in or we won't be
able to have our year end tournament or umpires showing up to our league
games! Greatly appreciated and thank you. |
**RAKING THE FIELD & HOME TEAM
TAKES 3RD BASE DUGOUT**
Raking
the field. It would be very helpful if the batting boxes and
pitchers mound were refilled and tapped (with the rake)
before (and/or after) each game, rather than just raked.
Especially at the plate, if the hole doesn't get filled back in with
the dirt beside it, this creates a very 'hilly' surface through
which to slide home, and will undoubtedly cause someone a serious
foot/leg injury.
Just to maintain the status quo, please
remember that the home team takes the 3rd base dugout. There
have been several instances of the home team taking the 1st base
dugout, and the visitors are left to take the other one....including
some Chilliwack teams.
Thank you for
your cooperation.

**RESCHEDULING
GAMES**
It will be the Aldergrove
coaches/Chilliwack coordinator's responsibility to contact the other team to set
up a tentative date as per the master schedule. When this has been
done, e-mail your date change to
league@aldergrovefastball.com so the umpires can be informed.
Please give as much notice as possible so that your game can be played
or it will go as a forfeit.
(AS PER EMAIL FROM DIANA (Dated June
2/07).
Hi everyone.
There seems to be some confusion as to
what the protocol is when you have to
cancel a scheduled game. Regardless of
how much time before the game you have
to cancel, you MUST make these three
PHONE calls. 1.) Call the coach or
contact person of the team you were to
have played. 2.) Call Kristyne D., she
is the umpire coordinator. 3.)
Call or email:
league@aldergrovefastball.com
Kris V., she is the
scorekeeper and reschedule coordinator.
If you have to cancel a game with at
least 24 hours notice, you may
reschedule that game. In order to keep
the phone calls for the re-scheduler to
make to a minimum, it is asked that the
two teams who need to reschedule, try to
come to an agreement on a game time by
perusing the master schedule and seeing
where there is an open spot. You will
ALSO have to check with Kris V to ensure
that the time slot you have chosen is
available still, and you will also have
to make arrangements with Kris D for the
umpiring. Everyone needs to cooperate to
make this work. Otherwise it becomes a
huge burden on one person, and makes it
that much harder for the league to
run.
Also, if a Chilliwack team calls you to
cancel or postpone a game, you will have
to let Kris V and Kris D know. If you
have to cancel or postpone a game to be
played in Chilliwack, please ask the
Chilliwack team to let their umpire
coordinator and scheduler know which is
Nicola:
youngguns@aldergrovefastball.com.
